Poland Scrambles Jets After Drone Threat Near Its Border

Poland isn’t taking any chances. Over the weekend, Polish and allied fighter jets took to the skies and air defenses went on high alert after warnings of possible Russian drone strikes near the Ukrainian border.

Lublin Airport in eastern Poland was temporarily closed. Air raid alerts were issued in several border counties. Officials stressed this was a preventive operation, but the message is clear: Poland is ready to defend its airspace.

This comes just days after reports of Russian drones crossing into Polish territory, with NATO helping to shoot some of them down.
