Former FBI Officials Sue Over Political Retaliation
Three former senior FBI officials have filed a lawsuit claiming they were fired in a campaign of retribution under the Trump administration. They argue they lost their jobs because they were seen as disloyal after refusing to push out agents connected to investigations involving Trump.
The suit names FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi among others. According to the complaint, Patel told one of the plaintiffs he had orders from the White House to remove agents and that his own job depended on carrying it out.
Together, the three plaintiffs have more than 90 years of FBI experience. They are seeking reinstatement, back pay, and a ruling that their dismissals were illegal.
This case raises major questions about the independence of federal law enforcement and whether political loyalty is being placed above the rule of law.
